Policies & Pricing
Health
All Kittens Will Be Spayed/ Neutered Before Going To Their
Forever Homes.
At This Time We Do Not Sell Breeding Ragdolls.
Our Cattery is certified FIV/FELV free. We are a 'closed
cattery'. We do not bring outside cats in for breeding (stud
service) or send our cats out for breeding to avoid exposing them
to illness and disease.
All TruBlueDolls Ragdolls come with a written health guarantee.
This guarantee states that all adult cats within the cattery,
breeding AND pets, have tested negative for FIV and FELV and
there-for the kittens are guaranteed to be negative as well.
TruBlueDolls Ragdolls will replace any kitten OR refund the
purchase price of any kitten that is diagnosed with FIP or
succumbs to any congenital defect/disease within the first 2 years
of life. TruBlueDolls will refund the purchase price of any kitten
that is diagnosed by a veterinary cardiologist with HCM in the first
5 years of life. There are, at this time, no known cases of HCM
within their lineage. All of our breeding cats will have the new HCM
DNA test by the end of 2008. Our two foundation cats have been
scanned clean before being bred.
Each kitten is given a thorough physical and junior bloodwork by my
vet when they are altered. We use and HIGHLY recommend Dr.
Siems of The Cat Hospital of Media. She provides compassionate,
responsible, and expert care. Her facilities are immaculate and
cat friendly and her staff is knowledgeable and gentle with cats
and their owners. Dr. Siems has seen us through a rough year with
our fur-babies and we have absolutely NO complaints with her
first class care and facility. She is truly the gold standard in cat
care in our area. http://www.thecathospitalofmedia.com/
New Owner Responsibility
All TruBlueDolls Ragdolls are sold with a contract that will need to
be signed before you take possession of your Ragdoll. Within this
contract the new owner agrees that their Ragdoll will be kept
exclusively indoors and will never be declawed. The owner also
agrees that the FIP vaccine will NOT be given to their Ragdoll and
that they will not give their Ragdoll any additional vaccines, other
than Rabies if necessary, for the first year of life. You would be
surprised at how many vets will try to double up your kitten's
vaccines just to be 'safe', when in fact this can be VERY
dangerous, particularly for Ragdolls! The Rabies vaccine, IF given
at all, must not be administered before 8 months of age as
Ragdolls are quite sensitive to this vaccine.
As an aside
**** Please realize that over vaccination, particularly in Ragdoll
kittens is VERY dangerous! It is up to you, as your new baby's
caregiver, to advocate for them! Sadly, there are some vets that
are more concerned with their bottom line than your baby's well
being. A good vet is worth their weight in gold! We have,
personally, tried several before finding what we believe to be the
best vet for cats in our area
(http://www.thecathospitalofmedia.com/)It is definitely worth the
effort to find a good one! If you need help knowing what questions
to ask please don't hesitate to e-mail us!*****
The new owner also agrees to feed quality food. We feed and
recommend Royal Canin.
In the event that any of these contract stipulations are broken,
the health guarantee is rendered null and void.
We have researched all of these issues and feel they are very
important to the well being and health of Ragdolls. We encourage
all new owners to research these issues for themselves to see why
they are so very important!
Wait List,Visits & Delivery
We are a small cattery, focused on quality, not quantity. We will
have a few carefully planned and lovingly raised litters a year. At
this time we have no plans to maintain a wait list, as the wait
between litters could be quite long and it would just not be
practical. We may adjust this procedure in the future, but for now,
we will announce our new babies on our nursery page. At that time
prospective owners are welcome to contact us for information and
an adoption application. We will follow up with a phone call. When
the kittens are 6 weeks old we can schedule a visit for you and
your family to come and pick your kitten...although in many cases
your kitten will pick YOU! Visits are an hour long and scheduled
for weekends only.
Please DO NOT visit multiple catteries in one day! This can be
devastating for the health of our kittens! Also, please be prepared
to remove your shoes (wear socks without holes in them!) and we
will ask that you thoroughly wash your hands before entering the
area where the kittens are. This is for their safety.
It is important to note that kittens are not held for anyone until
the first visit, at which time you are welcome to leave a deposit of
$200 to hold your kitten until he/she is old enough to go home at
12 weeks depending on the individual kitten. This deposit is
non-refundable, should you change your mind, but can be applied to
another kitten. The deposit is applied to the purchase price of your
kitten.
Why 12 weeks? For the answer to this question please click on this
link... How Young Is Too Young?
PLEASE be very wary of breeders that let their babies go at 6-8
weeks!! This is a HUGE red flag that you are not dealing with a
reputable breeder!
We Do Not Ship Our Kittens. However, we are located 15 minutes
from Philadelphia International Airport and you are welcome to
make arrangements to fly in to pick your kitten up. Please e-mail
us for further information.
When you come to pick your kitten up you will need a pet travel
carrier. We cannot allow a kitten to leave without one.
Pricing
Our kittens are $750. This includes the price of the spay/nueter,
all vaccines necessary for the first year of life **excluding Rabies
which is left to your discretion, but is not to be give before 8
months old**and a "New Kitten Kit". This includes an information
kit and a scratching pad.
Please know that our association does not end with the delivery of
